Buying CBD wholesale from a new supplier is a trust decision. These eight checks help you separate reliable suppliers from risky ones before you pay for a first order.
1. A registered company you can look up
The supplier's website should show its legal company name, registration or VAT number, and a geographic address. Look the company up in the national business register. EU e-commerce rules require this information, so missing details are a warning sign.
2. Independent COAs for every batch
Ask for the batch COA before ordering, and check that it comes from an independent lab and matches the percentages on the product page. Our guide How to Read a CBD COA explains what to look for.
3. Product claims that match the paperwork
Be careful with suppliers whose headline percentages are higher than their COAs, or who make medical claims. Reputable B2B suppliers describe products factually.
4. Clear wholesale terms
Minimum order quantities, volume pricing, payment terms and delivery times should be written down before you order.
5. Traceable payment methods
Bank transfer against invoice or card payment through a recognised payment provider gives you a paper trail. Be cautious if a supplier only accepts untraceable payment methods.
6. Tracked shipping and a damage policy
Every order should ship tracked, and the supplier should state what happens if goods arrive damaged or wrong.
7. Samples or small first orders
A supplier confident in its product will offer samples or a small trial quantity, so you can check quality before committing to kilos.
8. A real person you can reach
You should be able to email or call a named contact and get a reply within a working day. Check that the phone number works before ordering.
